playin' hooky, strawberries and family time.

Yep! We played hooky today.  We took a drive over to the Strawberry Festival in Plant City and enjoyed some family time! We took in a "mini" concert by a band called Vocal Trash - love 'em. We saw them last year at the festival.   They use trash cans and recyclable items as instruments.  Amazing!

However - it was senior citizen day.  Holy Guacamole !  Silver and grey heads EVERYWHERE.  Little rascal scooters and walkers.  I suppose it taught us patience!  :)    Despite nursing home day and a little rainstorm - we had a great time!

forever and a day..

Wow - it's been forever since I've updated.  I guess I kinda am lame at this.

We're doing well.  Bobby is working more than anything else.  We see him only on Saturday and Sunday, however we have become accustomed to it, but don't really care for this schedule.

I'm finishing the school year out at the school I'm at then I'm done.  IF we are not home this fall , I'm looking at a possible position at the Academy here teaching Pre-K.   I will not renew with school I'm at , there are too many staffing issues/ people issues that make the work environment less than desirable to work in.    Too much baby momma drama, baby's daddy drama with the teaching staff. However, I love teaching - so I'm committed to finishing this school year.

Zach is doing well. He's a starter on Varsity Basketball.  He recently had stitches in his face from an elbow to right below the nose. Poor kid - the coach put a butterfly band aid on it and he continued to play and after the game I took him to the hospital for the stitches.  He' been gone for a week long tournament at Southwestern Adventist University in Texas.   He'll be coming home tomorrow night.
He's doing well in school and seems to have fit in.

Believe it or not - we've made very few friends down here.  Close to  one couple at the church, but have many " acquaintances".  Not so good.

My mom & her sweet hubby came down for Christmas - it was wonderful, tiring - but wonderful! We saw and did so much during that time - including MOVE. YES, we finally moved out of the "pit". Oh it was horrible living there. The place we've moved to is so much BETTER. It's 2 years old and we really like it.  Thankfully we are out of that other place. It was horrific.  By the end of our lease so much had happened that when we signed our move out papers the leasing manager asked us to not file any sort of grievance or law suit.  Yes, it was that bad.  We feel they owe us OUR rent money back.

It's been so hectic that I still have a few Christmas presents to send out. Perhaps I will call them Valentine's presents?  :)

I will be buying new camera ( thank you so much ) and will take pictures of our new place and our family.

We LOVE and miss everyone.

Venturing out..

This morning I woke up wanting to go explore some more of the beaches here in South Central Florida.  I begged Zach to go. enticing him with using his new boogie board and fishing off the dock - but he bailed out and said he was too tired. I think 12 hours of sleep is plenty for a teenager.  I asked Bob if he wanted to go - but he'd just finished a night shift at the hospital, so therefore I ventured out on my own.  I am brave.

I headed out for Honeymoon Island, noticing that the sky was a bit overcast but usually it burns off by mid morning. Well, not today so I just walked the beach looking for shells until the lightening started and with the recent injuries due to lightening strikes here in Tampa, I decided to boogie on back to my car- however I did happen to get some great pictures. The water was amazingly warm. I believe I heard that the Gulf water was 90 degree's today. 

On the way back into Tampa I stopped at a fantastic flea market and hit a gold mine with books for my preschool class. Eric Carle books! Love 'em! There was a little bit of everything there, I'd like to take Bob and Zach back there and check it out. It was massive and after getting lost a few times I decided to call it quits.

After getting home and waking Bob and Zach up, we decided to go out for my birthday dinner. We headed down to Ybor City and went to the Spaghetti Warehouse.  Phenomenal. By far the best restaurant we've been to since moving here.

Today was good. I had a great time snapping pictures and celebrating my birthday with my family.
